    Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall

Oh my effing gaawd, this book is bloody amazing! I love it so much and I’m so sad it’s over. I want a sequel, or another one just like it. And I definitely want more stories by Alexis Hall. And I can feel myself entering a massive book-hangover right now as I’m sitting and writing this review. Also, I listened to the audio, I didn’t read it. But the drawback with that format is that you can’t high-light stuff. Because I would have high-lighted the fuck out of this book. I might even end up buying the kindle version so I can do just that. Obviously, Boyfriend Material is worth…

Loverboy (The Company #2) by Sarina Bowen

Release date: December 1st   Loverboy is a fun, easy-going romance that gave me the worst cravings for pies. The story is set, in part, in a pie-shop and there are way too many savory descriptions of pies in there. I mean, what the hell, Bowen! Like 2020 hasn’t been bad enough for peoples waistlines already! 😉 No, but seriously. There’s something so very appealing about books with lots of pastries in them, it just makes the whole story all the more homey and welcoming somehow. Anyway. So to the actual story; There’s Posy, pie-shop owner extraordinaire, recently divorced (from a complete tool) and struggling to find some good, reliable…

Demons Do It Better (Hidden Species #1) by Louisa Masters

Wow. This was just an amazingly fun and endearing story. I just loved it. And I knew I’d love it from the very first page, and I’m not just saying that to try to make a point. In the first chapter, I highlighted 5 different sections. For me, that’s practically unheard of. So yes. This was definitely a 5-star read to me. Synopsis: Sam is just a regular (sort of) guy, working as an office admin. But being bored out of his mind with his current job, he’s applied to a new admin position at a place that in the ad guarantees adventure. As it turns out, it’s at the…

    Four Ever by Sloane Kennedy

This is a seriously juicy story, but despite being about an all male, foursome relationship, it’s unexpectedly weighty and emotional. So, it’s actually not 320 pages of non-stop smut but a story of four lost individuals who manages to help each other heal. And then, there’s smut. Synopsis: Killian and Zak have been a couple for years, living together with a big family consisting of a menagerie of rescue animals. It seems idyllic, but since Killian was shot on the job 18 months prior, they started drifting apart and now they don’t know if they can ever find their way back to each other again. Then Zak, who works as a nurse, brings home two…

Say You’ll Be Nine by Lucy Lennox

This was a super sweet story, and very… unobtrusive in many ways. Objectively speaking, it was a perfectly fine read. But I’m sorry to say that it doesn’t deserve the outrageously high ratings it has gotten. (4.4 on Goodreads, 4.9 on Bookbub and 4.7 on Amazon!?) Lucy Lennox is a talented author. It’s high quality writing through-and-through. But I just couldn’t bring myself to like either of the main characters in this book. So my very subjective opinion about Say You’ll Be Nine might offend some Lennox fans. To me, this is a 3-star read. Simply because it’s very solid writing, story structure and generally the work of a professional.…

White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton

This book was a surprise of the very best kind and I’m in absolute awe of the world-building. It’s hands down the most original story I’ve read in a long time. It’s gritty and harsh, but at the same time it’s all magic and limitless possibilities. It’s not often I get the feeling of stepping into a whole new universe when immersing myself in a story. Sure, each book is a small world of its own, but the imperative word there is small. And there’s nothing small about White Trash Warlock. Synopsis: Years earlier, Adam Binder’s brother locked him up in a psych ward because of his visions. But now…

Logan’s Need (The Escort #3) by Sloane Kennedy

Logan’s Need is gay smut with a bit of suspense and all the emotions. In other words, it’s quite delectable. There’s a grief-stricken widower, gay awakening bordering on GFY, nooky for days, a roller-coaster love story, sibling guilt, trauma handling and a crazy kidnapper/serial-killer. This is great entertainment. It’s not epic. It’s not fabulous. But the writing is great and the story is juicy, so the overall result is a pretty satisfying read. Yes, it’s part of a series and no, I haven’t read the first two books, but Logan’s Need worked real well as a stand-alone. Sure, there were some referrals to previous events but they were explained well…
