Hijinks With a Hellhound (Hidden Species #3) by Louisa Masters

Release Date: March 25th Man, I love Alistair! He’s by far the most fun of all of the Hidden Species characters (so far). Like a big kid that doesn’t know the meaning of personal boundaries but with a heart of gold. So, of course I loved this book! I’ve waited for Alistair’s story ever since I read Demons Do It Better last year. So, to the story. It picks up right where #2 left off. And Alistair is assigned to accompany Aidan, the species’ leader to investigate the community where they believe Tisch is hiding with his followers. But Alistair resents Aidan because of the way he handled Sam’s first…

Tell Me It’s Real (At First Sight #1) by T.J. Klune

T.J. Klune is a true master of over-the-top and entirely inappropriate humour. I adore it, and I snort-laughed so much. It wasn’t pretty. However, I listened to the audio book, with the equally fabulous Michael Lesley narrating. And I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have enjoyed this story half as much if it hadn’t been for his excellent voice acting. Because even if I think Klune is a brilliant writer and the king of immature jokes (of which I’m obviously a fan), if I’d have read this book myself I would probably thought it too much. Too exaggerated. Too silly and fantastical. The combination of Klune and Lesley, though? Effing spectacular!…

    New Book from Kate Canterbary!

If you find yourself publicly humiliated, out of work, and unemployable at 35—not to mention newly single—here’s how to salvage your life: 1. Run away. Seriously, there’s no shame in disappearing. Go to that rustic old cottage your aunt left you. Look out for the colony of bats and the leaky roof. Oh, and the barrel-chested neighbor with shoulders like the broad side of a barn. Definitely look out for him. 2. Stop wallowing and stay busy. It doesn’t matter whether you know how to bake or fix things around the house. Do it anyway. Dust off your southern hospitality and feed that burly, bearded neighbor some pecan pie. 3.…

Headstrong (Vino & Veritas #3) by Eden Finley

Release Date: March 22 After more than a few reads that – on paper (ha!) – would be right up my alley but were “just” okay, my book-slump is finally over! Because I pretty much inhaled Headstrong and loved every minute of it! It was exactly what I’ve come to expect from Eden Finley. Humour, awesome characters and sizzling sexytimes. That scene with Whit going down on Rainn for the first time… oh mama. *fanning myself* Synopsis: So there’s Whit, hockey player at Moo U but a farm boy at heart, who’s just come out and decides to visit a gay bar to get rid of his v-card. Then there’s…

Sink or Swim (RELIC #2) by Maz Maddox

Release Date: March 19 Two dinosaur shifters go under cover as an engaged couple on a luxury cruise ship in order to lay their hands on some stolen dinosaur fossils, that’s the premise of this book. Baha is a Spinosaurus and Jackson is some kind of gigantic, flying fur-lizard. Oh, and they’re gay and secretly has the hots for one another. When they’re in their human forms. That feels important to clarify. So Baha has one personality trait, and that’s grumpy. Meanwhile, Jackson is a sunshine, glass-half-full, kind of guy who isn’t deterred by Baha’s shitty personality in the least. Baha is a member of RELIC and gets the assignment…

Featherbed (Vino & Veritas #1) by Annabeth Albert

Release date: March 15 Featherbed is a cute M/M romance set in Vermont, in the True North universe. It’s also one of the least angsty book I’ve ever read. It’s just altogether cosy, with two mature guys hitting it off. Synopsis: Harrison is the former big-city lawyer who packed up his life and moved to Vermont to open an inclusive book-shop. And Finn is the farmer whose chickens are accidentally delivered to the loading dock of the aforementioned shop. Harrison has long given up the idea of finding love. He didn’t expect to still be alive at the age of 42 after all. But the big, beefy chicken-farmer who comes…

    Sex Ed by Z.B. Heller

This was an amazingly over-the-top story that was absolutely hilarious. I laughed out loud so many times. And since I listened to the audio book version, and like to listen when out taking walks, I received many strange looks. But I have to be honest. I don’t know if I would appreciated all the craziness if I’d read it myself. However, when narrated by Michael Lesley it’s un-effing-believably fabulous. Michael Lesley is more than just a narrator. He’s a voice actor and he’s bloody brilliant. Synopsis: Sex Ed is the story about Jaxson Dane, comic-book geek with the most dysfunctional – but also quite wonderful – family that loves nothing…

The Boy Who Loved Wicked by C.P. Harris

Release Date: March 4 This book slayed me. It was all the emotions, all the time. The very first chapter made me cry. And it sort of spiralled from there. Feelings all over the place. Joy, sadness, anger and … is horny a feeling? Anyway. It was overwhelming. This is an M/M, age-gap, student-teacher story. And it’s beyond amazing. Phoenix Michaelson, book-worm introvert and philosophy aficionado, is just starting his senior year of high school. Sebastian Wicked is the new philosophy teacher, and as it turns out, Phoenix new neighbour. His married neighbour. Phoenix crushes hard. Wicked’s attractive, but for Phoenix he’s also (finally) someone that can understand him. It’s…

Cowboy (Busy Bean #2) by L.B. Dunbar

Release date: March 1 Cowboy is a super-cute, well-written romance that will have sooo many people go all swoon-y. It’s also a book that just didn’t click with me. Objectively, this book has just about every ingredient I crave in a good story; a spunky heroine, a hot hero and some seriously steamy sexytimes. And then there’s the little surprise. Yet, for some reason, I had trouble connecting with the characters. Synopsis: Cowboy is the story of Scarlett and Bull. Scarlett gets fired from her job the same day she discovers her husband’s been cheating on her. When going off to Vermont to get away from it all, she meets…

    Bad Judgment by Sidney Bell

This book is a gem. It was so much more than I expected and an emotional ride for sure. I knew going in that it would have a strong hurt-comfort theme and also contain some triggers such as domestic abuse and sexual assault. But that still didn’t prepare me for the ups and downs of this story. Let’s just say I felt so much during this read. Which is pretty much the highest praise you could ever give a book. Synopsis: Brogan Smith works in private security, and has just started a new assignment – guarding one of the higher-ups of a weapons manufacturer who’s been receiving death threats. It’s…
