Can’t Touch by Chara Croft

Can’t Touch is an M/M read that’s all about the D. And it’s deliciously raunchy, without the pretense of trying to be anything but a string of naughty scenes.

I loved it.

Of course, there is a story. But that’s only there to provide a backdrop to all the beautifully explicit carnality going on.

It’s an X-rated College romance featuring Tyson, an unapologetically out an proud fotball player, and Sean, a very timid and closeted scholarship student. The two are paired up by student housing, sharing a dorm, and Tyson is immediately smitten with his shy room-mate. And it just so happens that his feelings are returned. The big, brawny and very dominant Tyson getting it on with the delicate and very submissive Sean is downright scorching.

So yeah, to enjoy this read you’d have to be able to appreciate imbalance of power. Dominance and submission, physically and mentally, is at the core of this erotic tale. But contrary to what that usually entails, there’s no bondage or discipline, so in my book I wouldn’t really classify it as BDSM.

But even though the physical encounters are the main attraction of Can’t Touch, the dom-sub thing happening is described so very lovingly. There’s only ever hot as hell attraction, care and respect, which is the reason I truly enjoyed it. Degradation is one of the biggest turn-offs I can think of, but that had no place in the interactions between Sean and Tyson.

There is a little more to the story, even though it’s not much. There’s room for some emotional ups and downs. You get to see Tyson’s development from a veritable man-whore to a committed boyfriend, and the beginning of Sean’s journey to self-acceptance.

Can’t Touch is simply delightful in every way. If you’re into hard-core smut that is.

I'm a Swedish book nerd reading mostly steamy English romance novels. And since there is so much good stuff out there, and so much shitty stuff too. I just want to give credit where it's due (and diss the rest).
