Lies & Lullabies (Hush Note #1) by Sarina Bowen

Coming September 22nd  So, this one was a bit of a roller-coaster for me. Not only because of the emotional story – even though that did indeed contribute – but rather because of the trope. Synopsis: This is the story of Kira and Jonas. They meet during a summer that Jonas spends writing songs in Kira’s small home town. Kira doesn’t know he’s a rock star and when he leaves at summer’s end, she doesn’t know she’s pregnant. Five years later, Jonas rolls back into town and is confronted with a little girl that looks just like him. Jonas had never forgotten the magical summer he spent with Kira. And…

Who We Are (The Seafare Chronicles #2) by T.J. Klune

Who We Are was everything I expect from a Klune-book and more. It was laughter and tears. It was amazing and lovely. Tragic but also so very wonderful. Epic really. Now, I was a bit disappointed by the prequel, but it’s absolutely essential to have that backstory to be able to enjoy Who We Are fully. So even though the first installment was overly angsty, not as funny as I expect Klune’s books to be, and chock-full of long-winded sentimentality (which isn’t my cup of tea, just FYI), it’s still a great story that you need to read in order to enjoy the awesomeness that is Who We Are. As…

Kiss My Cupcake by Helena Hunting

Wow. So this was a ridiculously cute story. And it was amazing! The downside is of course its terrible influence on my diet. All the delicious baked goods described in this read gave me a serious sweet tooth. All I wanted to do while reading was to eat cupcakes – and also, open up my own cupcake-shop. Kiss My Cupcake is the very best if you’re looking for a cute, feel-good, rom-com. There’s absolutely nothing to gripe about – which makes writing a review pretty darn difficult. I can absolutely gush when the occasion calls for it, but it’s also kind of boring to read overly gush-y reviews. Therefore I’ll…

Hard Knox (Havenwood #3) by Riley Hart

This is a bi-awakening read that will melt your heart and and warm your insides. In a good way. Up until previously I actually avoided books by Riley Hart. And now, I’m kicking myself over that fact. I mean, Hart’s books are always highly rated on vendor-sites and are recommended on all the book forums. But somehow, I had gotten it into my head that her stories were always sickly sweet, low-angst and without any drama. Which I equated to boring. I still don’t know if my preconceived idea of Hart’s books always being sweet, low-angst stories is true or not since Hard Knox was both of those things. But it…

The Lightning-Struck Heart by T.J. Klune

Well, eff me sideways, I wasn’t expecting this! The blurb did in no way prepare me for the awesomeness that is The Lightning-Struck Heart. It was the reviews, the never-ending recommendations and the author that made me click on the Buy now button. That and the credit on my Audible account. Because I’ve been listening my way through this kick-ass story. I don’t tend to gush. But some stories frankly deserve gushing, and this is undoubtedly one of them. However, I wasn’t immediately sucked into the story. Klune’s writing-style takes some getting used to and during the first chapter I was also wondering if I’d accidentally started listening to one…

    Wolfsong by T.J. Klune

Wolfsong by T.J. Klune is an oldie for sure, but after hearing som many good things about it, reading it and being completely awestruck, I just need to share my thoughts on it. Because this story is utterly overwhelming, there’s just so much to process and appreciate. It’s bloody fabulous is what it is. Objectively, Wolfsong is an M/M shifter romance. But it’s so much more than that. I wouldn’t want this amazing novel to be limited by such a restrictive description. Yes, it’s a love story and yes, one of the guys is a wolf shifter. But this story is about so much more. It’s about growing up, about…

The Wolf at the Door by Charlie Adhara

The Wolf at the Door by Charlie Adhara isn’t really one of my typical reads. But it’s an absolutely wonderful mix of several of my favourite genres, and it’s a positively amazing book. It’s an M/M, wolf shifter, romantic suspense story. That’s quite a mouthful, but it’s so, so good. The Wolf at the Door isn’t new either, it’s the first in the Big Bad Wolf series that so far has three installments but more are coming. Which is a good thing because I’m totally hooked. Agent Cooper Dayton works for the BSI, the special branch of FBI that handles crimes involving werewolfs. While Cooper is still recuperating after a…

    Worship by Ella James

Worship blew me away. There is no other way of describing it. The story sucked me in and now I can’t get it out of my head. This is another M/M read. Yes, I’m totally hooked on the gay. So sue me. Anyway. The two main characters, Vance and Luke, meet through rather unusal circumstances. In fact, Vance is stranded on a Caribbean island and gets rescued by Luke. Sort of. And yes, that sounds pretty unlikely and silly, but once I got past that itty, bitty, corny detail the story is anything but. The official blurb is pretty vague, and I don’t want to reveal too much of the…

    The Walshes by Kate Canterbary

I’ve mostly been re-reading old favourites this holiday. There’s something so very comforting about snuggling up in the couch with a blanket and re-acquainting oneself with familiar characters in guaranteed HEAs. Especially during christmas. So, since I haven’t read anything new in a few weeks, I’ll just recommend one of my favorite re-reads instead. The smut-factor of this series is high – which is basically a must for a re-read if you ask me – and the smut-quality is superb. World-building and character development are outstanding and there’s guaranteed laughter and tears both. The series about The Walshes by Kate Canterbary is a collection of eight books, each focusing on…

Man Cuffed by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

Man Cuffed – coming November 19 – is the very best of rom-com. Hilarious, sexy and impossible to put down. It has it all; A grumpy, muscly, alfa-male with a bit of a gooey center. A strong, kickass and wonderfully self-assured heroine. And all the wonderful shenanigans those two get up to. The story is about Meg. Strong-willed and confident, she’s trying to make it as an actress while working different serving jobs to pay the bills. When moving into a new apartment, she soon discovers that her new neighbour is a hunky police officer. A police officer she once mistook for a stripper and tried to rip the clothes…
