Sex Ed by Z.B. Heller
This was an amazingly over-the-top story that was absolutely hilarious. I laughed out loud so many times. And since I listened to the audio book version, and like to listen when out taking walks, I received many strange looks. But I have to be honest. I don’t know if I would appreciated all the craziness if I’d read it myself. However, when narrated by Michael Lesley it’s un-effing-believably fabulous. Michael Lesley is more than just a narrator. He’s a voice actor and he’s bloody brilliant. Synopsis: Sex Ed is the story about Jaxson Dane, comic-book geek with the most dysfunctional – but also quite wonderful – family that loves nothing…

Soulmates by Liv Rancourt
Release date: January 14th This story was definitely a grower. It took a while, but the more I read, the more intrigued and delighted I became. Also, it’s probably the most believably organic formation of a threesome I’ve ever encountered. Kudos to Rancourt! Synopsis: Trajan is a 175 year old vampire on the verge of committing suicide by sun due to grief over his dead lover Connor. But when he is tasked by his sire to keep a young alpha werewolf safe for a week, he’s instantly distracted from his dark thoughts. Not only is David an outrageous and unapologetic twink just looking for some fun, but almost as soon…

Acquainted With the Night by Lesli Richardson
This book was a bit of a mind-f***. And I’m super conflicted as to whether it’s brilliant or just seedy. What I am sure about, though, is that it’s not for everyone. Because it’s basically gay, alien porn, and yet, it’s… not. Sure, there’s more or less non-stop boning throughout the book but it’s also kind of sweet. And I cried rivers at the end. So you see, tricky. Synopsis: Dale was drafted to fight in the war against the alien Algonquans. When he’s captured he has no idea what to expect. However, he soon realize that nothing that the Earth government has told him about the Algonquans are true.…

One Bite With A Vampire (A Hidden Species Novel) by Louisa Masters
Release Date: January 14th One Bite With A Vampire is an M/M, supernatural, contemporary rom-com. And this story has all the humour and all the laughs. Just like I expected after the amazing and hilarious start of the series, Demons Do It Better. It’s totally inappropriate and probably juvenile, but who doesn’t laugh at jokes about balls? Seriously! Synopsis: This is the story about Noah, the (human) guy who got saved from the crazy scientists at the end of DDIB. And about Andrew the ancient – but still smoking hot – vampire. Noah’s been through a lot, suffers from PTSD and is terrified of loosing control or letting anybody close.…

Demons Do It Better (Hidden Species #1) by Louisa Masters
Wow. This was just an amazingly fun and endearing story. I just loved it. And I knew I’d love it from the very first page, and I’m not just saying that to try to make a point. In the first chapter, I highlighted 5 different sections. For me, that’s practically unheard of. So yes. This was definitely a 5-star read to me. Synopsis: Sam is just a regular (sort of) guy, working as an office admin. But being bored out of his mind with his current job, he’s applied to a new admin position at a place that in the ad guarantees adventure. As it turns out, it’s at the…

Wicked Lies Boys Tell by K. Webster
This is a juicy combination of teenage angst and delicious smut. So I get why this book has gotten such great ratings. I truly do. It’s an engaging and emotional story. But I might just be a bit too old and a bit too jaded to appreciate all the drama. Or the excessive horniness of 18-year old boys. Simply put, Wicked Lies Boys Tell might be better suited for the young adult crowd. Synopsis: Penn and Copeland, Cope for short, have been best friends since they were kids. But at 16, Penn went and ruined it all by kissing Cope. Now, two years later, they’re enemies. But Penn hasn’t stopped…

A Matter of Time (A Matter of Time #1 and #2) by Mary Calmes
I can’t really say if I love or hate A Matter of Time or – as I like to call it – The adventures of Jory, a gay airhead. What is clear though, is that it’s as entertaining as it is irritating. Because the protagonist is just too stupid. Synopsis: This is the story about Jory Keyes, a young gay man who happens to witness a murder. And even though the murderer and his companions have sworn to kill Jory, Jory refuses to go into protective custody despite the police trying to convince him. Instead, Jory goes on with his life as nothing happened, partying with his friends almost every…

Rocket Science (Love Logic #1) by K.M. Neuhold
Just to be clear. Rocket Science is fluff. But there’s nothing wrong with that. Especially when said fluff is entirely honest and out about its own fluffiness. So, this was a 100% cute and feel-good story. I chose it as a comfort-read. I wanted sweet and simple, nerd+tattooed hunk, hot shenanigans and safe predictability. And Rocket Science hit the spot. Cute and sexy with a HEA. Synopsis: The super smart and super awkward Elijah moves across the country to start a PhD program. Incidentally, that places him in the same city as his best friend’s brother – Pax – who’s been Elijah’s secret crush for years. When Pax is tasked…

Smash & Grab (Relic #1) by Maz Maddox
This is a cute and whimsical read. It’s lighthearted entertainment with a fresh angle on the shifter genre. And I enjoyed it quite a bit. Blurb: There’s a nerdy paleontologist, Simon, who’s working on a fossil a certain cartel collector is set on stealing. When cartel goons are about to grab both Simon and the fossil, a guy with a bat and a pink mohawk shows up and saves both. While kicking some cartel ass. What started as a regular work day for Simon ends up with him setting out on a road trip across the country with a total stranger, albeit a good looking one. Dalton – Simon’s savior…

Alpha Trine (The Valespian Pact Book 1) by Lexi Ander
This here’s an M/M, Sci-Fi romance. Or maybe it would be more correct calling it an M/living-snake-tattoo/marsupial romance? Because technically it’s a threesome (even though two of the involved beings are in fact merged together) involving three different species of unclear biological gender. So I’ll be honest. I didn’t like this read as a romance even a little bit. But as a Sci-Fi adventure, I adored it! Blurb: The main character is a guy named Zeus. Found on an abandoned space-ship as an infant, he was adopted by the Mar’Sani royal family. Despite him being human and the Mar’Sani being big, scaly, lizard-people. Raised like a prince but never truly…
