Boss in the Bedsheets by Kate Canterbary
Coming June 26th Boss in the Bedsheets is the story about Zelda – the fixer of everybody elses messes – and Ash – an overworked, micromanaging perfectionist who really needs his mess fixed. Zelda is running away from her old life. She’s determined to start over, make better choices and put herself first for once. On her getaway flight she ends up sitting next to Ash Santillian, an extraordinarliy hot and stressed out accountant who also happens to be a recipient of one of Zelda’s hastily sent out job applications. However, making better choices doesn’t include persuading Ash to hire her and then shack up with her new boss. Both…

Knee Deep (Love in the Suburbs #4) by D.E. Haggerty
Coming July 29th Knee Deep is a second chance romance combined with a version of the enemies-to-lovers trope. This read was also very hard for me to review. Because this is a perfectly fine romance but one that I personally didn’t particularly like. So basically, a fine read – for someone else. The storyline is pretty basic. Violet’s just starting to get her life in order after years of struggle and depression. Then her ex, Luke, moves back into town and proceeds to ruin her life, again. She hates him with all her being for the way he left her years earlier, but she’s still attracted to him. And when…

Heroan by Casey Bering
Coming June 1st First, full disclosure. I only read half of Heroan. You may think that I shouldn’t write a review for a book I didn’t finish, but let me explain. In my opinion, this is not a book meant for adults and I did not sign up to read something written for teens. If it wasn’t for the gory, detailed, violence, I’d say for sure this was meant for a younger audience because it has all the trademarks of a children’s book, but as it stands, I’m very conflicted about Heroan. I don’t know if I should review it as an adult-novel or as a teen-read. So I guess…

This Time Is Different by Mae Wood
This Time Is Different is a cozy, low-key romance. It’s about a second chance at love and about navigating the unfamiliar waters of dating as a more mature adult. It’s about Amy Forsythe who is nearing forty and single for the first time since her senior prom. Her friends is pushing her to date but her teenager isn’t thrilled by the idea and neither is Amy. Whereas silver fox Thomas Popov isn’t looking for The One. He found her decades ago. And fell apart when she died. At fifty-three with a new job, a new city, and an empty nest, he’s focused on climbing the corporate ladder. But then a…

Blood Truth by J. R. Ward
Blood Truth is the fourth and latest book in the Black Dagger Legacy series. It’s vampire romance with very little focus on blood-sucking. And I looove this book universe. I love both the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and the Legacy one. I’m hooked om Ward’s vampire world and I think anyone reading Blood Truth is too. Because this just isn’t a stand-alone. Either you’re a committed Ward vampire-fan and have read them all, or you haven’t read any of them. There’s no in between. Blood Truth is the book about Boone, a soldier in the Black Dagger Brotherhood ‘s training program, and Helania who’s trying to find her sister’s killer.…

Sure Shot by Sarina Bowen
Coming May 12 I tried to hold off a bit, reading Sure Shot. Because I know that once I start one of Bowen’s books, I usually can’t put it down until I’ve finished it. And yes, that’s pretty much what happened. So, as per usual, I started out carefully trying to savor every word, but soon I was racing through to the end feeling a whole lot of feels and nursing a book hangover. Sure Shot is the latest installment in the Brooklyn Bruisers series. That’s hockey-themed romance of the very best kind. This series takes place in the kind of book universe where there are the same recurring characters…

Freebie-smut by L.A. Witt, Melissa Blue and Hannah L. Corrie
I got a hold of a whole bunch of freebies a while ago, so I figured I’d do some quickie reviews of those. Blood From a Stoner by L.A. Witt This story is actually pretty much what you’d imagine from a book called Blood From a Stoner. It’s about a vampire named Greg (yes, Greg) who gets accidentally stoned by sucking blood from – yes, you guessed it – a stoner. Said stoner, Zane, is the mortal who also happens to be the colleague who Greg’s had a crush on for ages. And yes, that’s the start of sucking more than just blood. Pros: It’s a really fresh take on…

Cross-Checking by Evie Graham
Cross-Checking is the debut novel of Evie Graham and the first book in the Lilac Harbor series. It’s a sweet, second chance romance and – as you may guess from the title – it has a bit of a hockey theme. The story’s about hockey player Camden Locke and his College sweetheart Coraline, Cora for short. The book kicks off with Camden deciding to go back home for the summer to win back the girl he left behind ten years earlier. But Cora isn’t at all prepared to face Camden again. She still has feelings for him but she also holds on to a tragic secret that she’s convinced Camden…

The Wright Brother by K.A. Linde
The Wright Brother by K.A. Linde isn’t really new but it’s a great romance with just the right amount of drama to keep you thoroughly entertained to the very end. I enjoyed it immensely. Maybe not because it’s an award-winning book (it isn’t) or that it stands out that much from other romance novels (it doesn’t), but because Linde manages to blend and balance all those necessary components of a great romance with absolute perfection. The story-line combines several classic tropes in a delicious mix. It’s about PhD-student Emery that, after discovering her boyfriend is a cheating douchebag, up-ends her life and moves back to her old hometown. Swearing off…

Rough Sketch by Kate Canterbary
Rough Sketch by Kate Canterbary was a bit of a surprise. Mostly because I hadn’t realized it was only a novella. It’s a very intense and raunchy story taking place in Canterbary’s Talbot’s Cove universe. It’s very high on the smut-scale (love it!) but it also has a surprisingly serious and contemplative undertone. The story describes the first few days of Neera’s and Gus’ passionate relationship. Neera was first introduced in Fresh Catch while Gus is new to the series. Gus is an artist, a free spirit and a wanderer. Neera – an ambitious and highly disciplined executive – is Gus’ opposite in every way. They irritate and frustrate each…
