Waylaid (True North #8) by Sarina Bowen

This is such an awesome read. 4.5 stars! And it intrigued me from the very start. Synopsis: This is the story of Daphne Shipley and Rickie – Dylan Shipley’s roommate/landlord. And there’s so much happening here. Rickie has suffered a mysterious injury leaving him with partial amnesia. Daphne has a psycho ex that’s threatening her and has forced her to relocate to another university. So, naturally, Daphne’s hesitant to trust again and Rickie has issues for miles because of his amnesia. Their growing affection and Rickie’s persistence is just super sweet reading. I must admit, I was really impatient for them to solve their respective “problems” (a.k.a. getting revenge and recovering memories),…

Wandering a Luminous Sea by Kayleigh Sky

Release date: July 13th Merik, a merman who’s trying to solve a case with missing mer people, falls for the ex of the guy he suspects being behind all the disappearances. But when he’s started their relationship on a lie, can it ever become the real thing? But instead of coming clean to Jody, Merik’s choice is taken from him when some of the ex’s goons forces Merik back to the sea. How can Jody and Merik ever be together if Merik doesn’t have his legs?  Confession: I’m not particularly fond of mermen. I adore shifter books, but my taste is apparently quite conservative when it comes to what shapeshifting…

Not Dead Yet (Not Dead Yet #1) by Jenn Burke

This story has so much going for it. A living ghost. Witches. Supernatural beings. A murder mystery. And the most delicious thing of all, the ex lovers who are forced together by some shitty circumstances and who may or may not reignite their old spark. So of course I devoured this book. Synopsis: Wes is a Retrieval Specialist (read thief) who uses his special ability to turn ghost as a means to excel at his job. When he witnesses a murder during a break-in, he reaches out to his ex-boyfriend, Detective Hudson Rojas. Hudson is still hot AF, but any thoughts Wes might have had about maybe rekindling the old…

    Something Wicked by Robin Moray

This is truly a little gem. Quick, super sweet and with an unpredictable (in most ways) plot containing witches, a warlock and a witch-hunter. It might be the ultimate enemies-to-lovers scenario; Kevin is a witch – albeit a very weak one – and Peter is the witch-hunter who arrives in Kevin’s hometown hunting for a witch who murdered his mentor. And they are immediately drawn to each other. Peter thinks all witches are evil, but Kevin can’t stay away. He doesn’t really even want to. Meanwhile, Kevin’s siblings (a.k.a. his coven) is trying to find the warlock who appears to kill other witches within their territory. With all the magic…

Prince’s Master (Calluvia’s Royalty #4) by Alessandra Hazard

For quite a while, I really thought Hazard had blown it with this book. The story didn’t sweep me away in the same way the first three books did. But it’s worth hanging in there, it really is. Synopsis: Eridan was rescued as a child from an assassination attempt and has been raised in High Hronthar by an order of telepathic monks. He’s unaware of his true identity as the second prince of the Fifth Grand Clan. He only knows that he’s been claimed as an apprentice by the most powerful man in the Order, Castien Idhron. Castien doesn’t deal in feelings. He’s manipulative, without scruples and he will use…

Communion (On My Knees #3) by Ella James

I’m so conflicted right now. The first two books in this series blew me away. I was so overwhelmed by all the feels it wasn’t even funny. But this third installment… I don’t know what to think. But first, I must be clear about that no matter my feelings (which are all over the place at the moment), this is a very well-written story with the most engaging of topics. And it’s steamy like you wouldn’t believe (maybe even too much so). Also, I’m totally in love with the cover. It’s gorgeous in an I’d-love-to-hang-it-on-my-wall kind of way. Synopsis: Luke, a pastor in the megachurch Evermore, has come out as…

Sorcerers Always Satisfy (Hidden Species #4) by Louisa Masters

Release Date: June 3rd I’m so conflicted right now. And I have sooo many feelings. This is the last book in the series, meaning I have some grieving to get through. But there’s also some what-the-eff-happeneds that I need to come to terms with. Fortunately, there will be a spin-off. Which is a good thing. Apart from Percy’s story, I need Dustin’s. So bad. Synopsis: This is David’s story. The sorcerer who’s always kept to the background in the previous Hidden Species books. And it’s Caolan’s story, the elf who appeared from another dimension at the end of book 3. Caolan is immediately smitten with David, but David has a…

King & Queen (RELIC #3) by Maz Maddox

Release date: May 21st This was such a delightful read! Without a doubt the best RELIC so far. It had everything. Fun, engaging characters? Check. Fast paced action involving fossil thieves and dino-nappers? Check. Quirkiness galore, drag queens, and filthy shenanigans? Check, check, and check. Synopsis: As a member of RELIC, Royal the dinosaur shifter is sent to check out a new fossil excavation, in the event of a new shifter being awakened from hibernation. Blaise is visiting the site for entirely different reasons involving a camera and a live stream. Neither of them expected to stumble upon fossil thieves. Or being chased by an angry Giganotosaurus. It must be…

Endangered Species (Time Served #1) by Onley James

This read is the very definition of juicy smut, the kind you really don’t want to read in public. In another word: Awesome! Synopsis: Nicholas Webster leads a good life. He’s left his abusive childhood behind and is a computer wiz at a security firm. That is, until he’s falsely accused of terrorism and incarcerated in a maximum security prison. The same prison where his step-brother, Cyrus, is serving 25 years for a murder he didn’t commit – because Nicky’s testimony put him there. Nicky thinks he’s a dead man. But, as it turns out, Cy isn’t the one Nicky should fear the most. Someone wants Nicky dead, the sooner…

Turnabout (Vino & Veritas #9) by Laurel Greer

Release date: May 6th This story gave my all sorts of feels. An M/M, second chance romance, set in Sarina Bowen’s True North universe. It’s the story of Carter, who left small town life for a chance to prove himself, and Auden, the one who stayed behind. And even though the story alternates between the viewpoints of Auden and Carter respectively, to me, this was Carter’s story. So, when Carter’s father needs help with running his print-shop, Carter steps up, puts his life on hold and goes back home to do what he can. However, Carter’s ex, Auden, still works at said print-shop and neither of them have really gotten…
