Bombshells (Brooklyn Bruisers #8) by Sarina Bowen

Release date: April 13 As usual, I enjoyed the heck out of Sarina Bowen’s writing. And this was such an easy read. The story just pulled me in and I didn’t mind being swept away at all. I really, really liked the fact that Sylvie was a professional athlete. She was so strong and capable and trying to make a name for herself in a sport which is mostly viewed as a male one. That was beyond awesome. Synopsis: This is the story of Sylvie – a hockey goalie who’s earned a spot in a newly founded female hockey team in Brooklyn, and Anton – reformed player and also a…

Heated Rivalry (Game Changers #2) by Rachel Reid

I don’t know why I waited so long to read this book! It’s awesome! It’s a blazing hot roller-coaster ride with a beautiful ending. I love it. It’s the ultimate enemies-to-lovers story. Two hockey players, Shane and Ilya, are on rivalling teams and have been pitted against each other since they were drafted. They’re as different as can be, but their attraction is off the charts. And even though they don’t even like each other, they’re dynamite in the bedroom. And no one will ever find out, right? This is such a delicious read I’m beating myself up for not picking it up sooner. I mean, I’ve seen all the…

Flipcup (Vino & Veritas #7) by Kim Hartfield

Release Date: April 5th Full disclosure: This is my first F/F read. Like, ever. But when Flipcup was offered, my curiosity was piqued. And even if F/F romance had never been on my radar before, I thought I’d give it a shot. In retrospect, I probably shouldn’t have, though. Synopsis: This is the story about Tara, a former foster-kid who left Boston for a fresh start in Burlington, Vermont, and Chelsea whose biggest problem in life is to get – and keep – a boyfriend. These women couldn’t be more different. Which may be why they were drawn to each other in the first place. Chelsea has sworn off men…

Undercover (Vino & Veritas #4) by Eliot Grayson

Release Date: March 29 I’m actually surprised how much I liked this book! Two vastly different guys that start out their relationship based on lies but despite that manage to turn it into the real thing in the end. A very delightful read indeed! Synopsis: Alec is an undercover FBI agent tasked with trying to crack a case involving drugs being smuggled into the US in yoga-mats (yes, totally ridiculous, right? But all the yoga-bashing in the book totally made up for it!). Gabe is a rich twink who’s adrift after being kicked out of grad school. After Gabe inadvertently rouses Alec’s suspicions (among other things), Alec realizes that Gabe…

Headstrong (Vino & Veritas #3) by Eden Finley

Release Date: March 22 After more than a few reads that – on paper (ha!) – would be right up my alley but were “just” okay, my book-slump is finally over! Because I pretty much inhaled Headstrong and loved every minute of it! It was exactly what I’ve come to expect from Eden Finley. Humour, awesome characters and sizzling sexytimes. That scene with Whit going down on Rainn for the first time… oh mama. *fanning myself* Synopsis: So there’s Whit, hockey player at Moo U but a farm boy at heart, who’s just come out and decides to visit a gay bar to get rid of his v-card. Then there’s…

Featherbed (Vino & Veritas #1) by Annabeth Albert

Release date: March 15 Featherbed is a cute M/M romance set in Vermont, in the True North universe. It’s also one of the least angsty book I’ve ever read. It’s just altogether cosy, with two mature guys hitting it off. Synopsis: Harrison is the former big-city lawyer who packed up his life and moved to Vermont to open an inclusive book-shop. And Finn is the farmer whose chickens are accidentally delivered to the loading dock of the aforementioned shop. Harrison has long given up the idea of finding love. He didn’t expect to still be alive at the age of 42 after all. But the big, beefy chicken-farmer who comes…

    Sex Ed by Z.B. Heller

This was an amazingly over-the-top story that was absolutely hilarious. I laughed out loud so many times. And since I listened to the audio book version, and like to listen when out taking walks, I received many strange looks. But I have to be honest. I don’t know if I would appreciated all the craziness if I’d read it myself. However, when narrated by Michael Lesley it’s un-effing-believably fabulous. Michael Lesley is more than just a narrator. He’s a voice actor and he’s bloody brilliant. Synopsis: Sex Ed is the story about Jaxson Dane, comic-book geek with the most dysfunctional – but also quite wonderful – family that loves nothing…

Cowboy (Busy Bean #2) by L.B. Dunbar

Release date: March 1 Cowboy is a super-cute, well-written romance that will have sooo many people go all swoon-y. It’s also a book that just didn’t click with me. Objectively, this book has just about every ingredient I crave in a good story; a spunky heroine, a hot hero and some seriously steamy sexytimes. And then there’s the little surprise. Yet, for some reason, I had trouble connecting with the characters. Synopsis: Cowboy is the story of Scarlett and Bull. Scarlett gets fired from her job the same day she discovers her husband’s been cheating on her. When going off to Vermont to get away from it all, she meets…

    Bad Judgment by Sidney Bell

This book is a gem. It was so much more than I expected and an emotional ride for sure. I knew going in that it would have a strong hurt-comfort theme and also contain some triggers such as domestic abuse and sexual assault. But that still didn’t prepare me for the ups and downs of this story. Let’s just say I felt so much during this read. Which is pretty much the highest praise you could ever give a book. Synopsis: Brogan Smith works in private security, and has just started a new assignment – guarding one of the higher-ups of a weapons manufacturer who’s been receiving death threats. It’s…

Counterblow (Shatterproof Bond #4) by Isobel Starling

This has got to be the most uneven series in the history of series. Don’t get me wrong. I’m sort of in love with both Sam and Declan and they’re the most amazing couple to follow. However, these are supposed to be suspense/spy/secret agent kind of books. But you can never know if an instalment will actually contain any secret agenting (that’s a word right?) or not. I keep expecting this series to have a classically composed plotline. You know where there’s a case/mystery/whatever that slowly unfolds and then escalates towards the end where it’s finally resolved. All the while there’s a long-term plot that continues in the next book. Well.…
