The Mating of Michael (Sex in Seattle #3) by Eli Easton

Quick recommendation! This is a juicy one. Technically, there aren’t that many steamy scenes, but there’s such a delectable undercurrent of sexual tension throughout the book it’ll have to be categorized as delicious smut anyway. And I devoured it. The trope, the writing, the characters. It all came together wonderfully. It’s a story about Michael, a registered nurse also working as a sexual surrogate. (Side note: I didn’t know what that was going in. And I still don’t know if it’s a real thing or not. Maybe I’ll have the courage to google it some day. But in the context of this story, it’s as perfect as can be.) Michael…

To Whom It May Concern (For Him #3.5) by A.M. Johnson

Release date: February 17th Beautiful. That’s the only way to describe this novella. When I’d finished it last night, I had this happy, glow-y feeling in my chest. Serene and content in a way I seldom am right after finishing a story. Writing-wise, I don’t think I need to explain Johnson’s style. Her writing is always top-notch with the occasional poetic undertone. I love it. Synopsis: The read is told through dual POVs. Clay’s and Syrus’. The first is an author, who’s hardly written a word since his parents died a year earlier. The second is a narrator of audio books, a recluse of sorts, who happens to love Clay’s…

Just Watch Me by Lee Blair

Release Date: January 27th Short, sweet and (unfortunately) surprisingly low on the steam scale. That’s my one sentence summary of Just Watch Me. Synopsis: Jesse is a lonely guy who wants to break his ennui but doesn’t dare step out of his comfort zone. But when a hot new neighbour moves into the apartment facing Jesse’s own, he gets just the incentive he needs. After accidentally spying the neighbour railing another man – and getting caught enjoying the show – Jesse and his neighbour realizes they both like watching each other. Now, I don’t mind sweet, not at all. But considering the title and the blurb, I’m sort of inclined to…

The Best Men by Sarina Bowen & Lauren Blakely

Release date: January 18th Right, so. I’ll be honest. The first few chapters I thought Bowen and Blakely had dropped the ball with this one. Yes, I know, that’s totally implausible but sometime it’s bound to happen, right? Wrong. They knew exactly what they were doing! This is the forced-proximity trope at its best. Two best men, working together to prepare for the wedding of their best friend and sister, respectively. Mark is a recently divorced, single dad who wants to explore his bisexuality. Asher is a former jock who’s always up for a good time. Alone in a small guest house they’re just going to have some fun. It’s…

Iris (Mike Bravo Ops #1) by Eden Finley

Release Date: January 20th Eden Finley sure knows what she’s doing when it comes to creating the best MM romance protagonists. It’s like she has a recipe that, without fail, turns out the perfect cake. Or, in this case, lovable MCs and a steam-banter ratio to die for. Synopsis: Iris, ex military and now working for a private security company – Mike Bravo, is an adrenaline junkie of the highest order. He’s always ready for action and he loves it. An extraction mission results in Iris and his team saving the life of a blast from Iris’ past. Saint, Iris frenemy from basic training, always the perfect soldier, best at…

    Evil Omega by S. Rodman

Release Date: January 14th I loved the premise of this story! An evil, badass Omega as opposed to the usual kind and submissive ones. Awesome! And in many ways, the read did deliver. So, Silas Northstar is a shifter and a necromancer. Outcast, despised, and feared. He also has a propensity for getting captured and that’s how the story begins. With Silas having been captured by the Westlake Pack, and Dean – a pack alpha – literally dragging Silas off of the pack head Alpha. It’s a strong start to the story, and gets even more interesting when Silas’ heat starts when he’s in Dean’s custody. The dynamic between Silas…

The Worst Guy by Kate Canterbary

I loooved this book. So much. Sebastian Stremmel is the very definition of grumpy, and the heroine – Sara Shapiro – is as messy and damaged as any of Canterbary’s characters have ever been. So yum! Synopsis: One perpetually scowling trauma surgeon gets in to it with one (usually) people-pleasing, good girl plastic surgeon. The end result is conflict management therapy for the both of them. Eight weeks with forced proximity can’t possibly end well. That they end up having hate sex after their second session doesn’t mean anything. Right? I’ve been waiting a long time for Stremmel’s story, but I was still surprised at how much I loved him.…

Blow Me Away by Billie Bloom

Expected Release Date: January 10th I’ll be honest. The beginning of this book was not good. It was awkward and stilted, and a few chapters in I was convinced it would be a chore to finish it. But, fortunately, I was wrong. And after the first – and way too rushed – part, the story found its stride and ended up being a cute, low-angst read. Synopsis: Noah needs a date for his sisters destination wedding. His ex will be there with his fiancĂ©, and Noah refuses to show up alone. Enter Noah’s best friend’s straight brother Nick. Nick agrees to act as Noah’s new boyfriend for the trip. It’s…

The Offering (Wolves of Wereduin #1) by Rosary Deville

Right. So. I might have a bit of a soft spot for MM shifter reads. Or, more correctly, they’re a guilty pleasure of mine. And then I saw The Offering recommended. I read the blurb, I read the warnings, and I still bought it. Maybe I shouldn’t have. Anyway. The story takes place in a universe where completely different rules and morals than our own apply. It’s truly the world of the strong. The weak are used, enslaved, or even outright killed. It’s also a world where, among the wolves, you’re either born to be a dominant or a submissive. Pretty crappy odds for the submissives in other words. In…
