Meet Cute: The Hedgehog Incident (The Parasol Protectorate 0.75) by Gail Carriger
I loooved this little novella! It’s the story of the first meeting between Alexia Tarabotti – preternatural – and Lord Conall Maccon – werewolf Alpha of the London pack. It’s delicious and hilarious, and even covered some of the overlap with the Finishing School series. The hedgehog incident has been mentioned previously in the PP-series and I was delighted to read the details now. Apart from hedgehogs, there’s also a grumpy and accidentally naked werewolf, and of course our heroine Alexia who gets an eyeful of well-muscled werewolf buttocks. So, this is a read for Parasol Protectorate lovers. Sure, I guess you could start with this story before diving into…

The Enforcer Enigma (San Andreas Shifters #3) by Gail Carriger
Coming August 1st I’ve been waiting (very impatiently I might add) for The Enforcer Enigma ever since I discovered this series earlier this year. Because it has all the best things rolled into one delicious package. There’s sparkle, fabulously quirky characters, snark for days and werewolves doing naughty, indecent things. So, yes. It’s awesome. And The Enforcer Enigma didn’t disappoint. It has all those things I loved about the first two installments and more. There are outrageous and fabulous characters of all genders (okay, mostly male. This is an M/M romance after all). There’s banter and snark. And there’s a lovestory unfolding in parallel with a plot including stolen goods…

Defy or Defend (Delightfully Deadly #2) by Gail Carriger
Defy or Defend is a romantic comedy set in Gail Carriger’s paranormal, steam-punk Parasolverse and it’s as charmingly whimsical as all of her books. It’s a through-and-through feel-good read that had me smiling from start to finish. The dry humor is to die for. And it was exactly what I needed now when it seems like the whole world is going to shit. However, I was a bit hesitant about this book at first. This is a spin-off from the Finishing School series and follows Dimity Plumleigh-Teignmott, a.k.a. Honey Bee, as a grown-up, working as a spy for the War Office. As Finishing School is a YA series, I ended…

The Sumage Solution by G.L. Carriger (Gail Carriger)
The Sumage Solution, the first installment in The San Andreas Shifter series, is a funny and very quirky – and as Carrigery as can be – romance. It features all kinds of shifters, Mages and also some very explicit M/M shenanigans. It’s simply delightful. The story is about Max, a failed Mage, who is a miserably unhappy and paper-pushing civil servant, and it’s about Bryan, the Beta of a Wolf pack that wants to settle down in San Fransisco, far away from their old Pack. When Max and Bryan meet there’s an instant attraction. Despite Bryan being a werewolf, and Max knows they’re nothing but trouble. And despite the fact…
