Conspiracy of Dragons (Here Be Dragons #4) by Louisa Masters

Estimated release date: November 9, 2022 Just. Wow. I never would have thought that Steffan – uptight, suspicious, conspiracy theorist Steffan – would become one of my favourite characters in this crazy and wonderful series. But here we are. And I can’t properly express how delighted I am by this story. Here Be Dragons (and Hidden Species) are full of quirky and ridiculous, yet lovable, characters. Steffan, who’s been in the periphery of many of the stories, has always been one of the more extreme eccentrics, and definitely less likable. But, my oh my. This book changed all that. Yes, he’s still awkward as all get out. He can’t relate very well to other…

Vortex Conundrum (Ghostly Guardians #2) by Louisa Masters

Estimated release date: June 22 Cute, fast-paced and there are demons! In other words, Vortex Conundrum, the sequel to Spirited Situation, is pretty darn entertaining. Synopsis: So there’s Kieran – the slightly uptight manager of Mannix estate – and there’s Connor – the demon hunter who’s there to save the day. Kieran doesn’t like Connor, not even a little bit, but he needs him to solve their little problem of having a gateway to another dimension in the hotel. And like he didn’t have enough to deal with already, Connor keeps flirting with him while also being the most annoying person ever. He’s hot though, so if he offers to…

The Dragon Experiment (Here Be Dragons #3) by Louisa Masters

Estimated Release Date: April 21st Cute, quirky, and great fun. That’s my short review of The Dragon Experiment. This is the adorable story of Fabian, the historian and record keeper of dragon kind, and Rhys, a sorcerer and scientist – who most definitely isn’t prepared for the easily distracted fabulousness that is Fabian. It’s silly and funny. Just what I expect from Masters. From previous books we learned that Fabian’s two passions are knowledge and sex. And Rhys just so happens to perform research on the effects of sex on community members’ innate abilities. Obviously it’s a match made in heaven. Without Fabian knowing it, he’s been providing Rhys with…

Dragon Ever After (Here Be Dragons #1) by Louisa Masters

This read was a pure and utter delight! Just the funny, quirky and ridiculous story I needed. So, yes, I loved it. Technically, this is a new series – even though I believe there’s only one more book planned. But this is a spin-off from the Hidden Species series, and the only thing that really distinguishes it from that series is that the overall story arc was concluded with Sorcerers Always Satisfy. Therefore, I wouldn’t call Dragon Ever After a stand-alone. You won’t be able to appreciate the supporting characters, or the world building, unless you’ve read Hidden Species first. Synopsis: Percy, the retired leader of the Community of Species…

Sorcerers Always Satisfy (Hidden Species #4) by Louisa Masters

Release Date: June 3rd I’m so conflicted right now. And I have sooo many feelings. This is the last book in the series, meaning I have some grieving to get through. But there’s also some what-the-eff-happeneds that I need to come to terms with. Fortunately, there will be a spin-off. Which is a good thing. Apart from Percy’s story, I need Dustin’s. So bad. Synopsis: This is David’s story. The sorcerer who’s always kept to the background in the previous Hidden Species books. And it’s Caolan’s story, the elf who appeared from another dimension at the end of book 3. Caolan is immediately smitten with David, but David has a…

Hijinks With a Hellhound (Hidden Species #3) by Louisa Masters

Release Date: March 25th Man, I love Alistair! He’s by far the most fun of all of the Hidden Species characters (so far). Like a big kid that doesn’t know the meaning of personal boundaries but with a heart of gold. So, of course I loved this book! I’ve waited for Alistair’s story ever since I read Demons Do It Better last year. So, to the story. It picks up right where #2 left off. And Alistair is assigned to accompany Aidan, the species’ leader to investigate the community where they believe Tisch is hiding with his followers. But Alistair resents Aidan because of the way he handled Sam’s first…

One Bite With A Vampire (A Hidden Species Novel) by Louisa Masters

Release Date: January 14th One Bite With A Vampire is an M/M, supernatural, contemporary rom-com. And this story has all the humour and all the laughs. Just like I expected after the amazing and hilarious start of the series, Demons Do It Better. It’s totally inappropriate and probably juvenile, but who doesn’t laugh at jokes about balls? Seriously! Synopsis: This is the story about Noah, the (human) guy who got saved from the crazy scientists at the end of DDIB. And about Andrew the ancient – but still smoking hot – vampire. Noah’s been through a lot, suffers from PTSD and is terrified of loosing control or letting anybody close.…

Demons Do It Better (Hidden Species #1) by Louisa Masters

Wow. This was just an amazingly fun and endearing story. I just loved it. And I knew I’d love it from the very first page, and I’m not just saying that to try to make a point. In the first chapter, I highlighted 5 different sections. For me, that’s practically unheard of. So yes. This was definitely a 5-star read to me. Synopsis: Sam is just a regular (sort of) guy, working as an office admin. But being bored out of his mind with his current job, he’s applied to a new admin position at a place that in the ad guarantees adventure. As it turns out, it’s at the…
