A Ferry of Bones & Gold (Soulbound #1) by Hailey Turner

This is a quite overwhelming read. Not emotionally, it’s non-stop action after all, but with all the… everything! It gave me whiplash. Yet, so many aspects of this book was amazing. But. In the end, the overload and excessiveness of it all lowered my overall opinion of it. At first, I thought that Patrick was such a cliché. I mean, a world-weary, agent with an alcohol problem and a slight death-wish. In his early twenties, no less. But there was an explanation for all that. One that actually made sense. So kudos to Turner for that. And the world-building. It was spectacular and felt very unique to me, with the…

Bombshells (Brooklyn Bruisers #8) by Sarina Bowen

Release date: April 13 As usual, I enjoyed the heck out of Sarina Bowen’s writing. And this was such an easy read. The story just pulled me in and I didn’t mind being swept away at all. I really, really liked the fact that Sylvie was a professional athlete. She was so strong and capable and trying to make a name for herself in a sport which is mostly viewed as a male one. That was beyond awesome. Synopsis: This is the story of Sylvie – a hockey goalie who’s earned a spot in a newly founded female hockey team in Brooklyn, and Anton – reformed player and also a…

Love is a Stranger (More Heat Than the Sun #1) by John Wiltshire

What a ride this story was! I was completely sucked into this book. This is an extremely well-written story in every way. The plot is captivating and intricate, and there is no way of figuring out where the story is headed in advance. Which is awesome. The story premise kept shifting, and right when I thought I had it all figured out, the story took yet another turn. Synopsis: Ben is an ex-SAS soldier recruited to a black-ops team within the British Intelligence Agency. He’s also involved with his boss, Sir Nikolas Mikkelsen, who happens to be married. It’s only supposed to be a physical relationship, but Ben has fallen…

When Harry Met Harry by Sydney Smyth

This is a re-telling of When Harry Met Sally. Obviously. I’m generally not a fan of these kind of re-writes, but this one had gotten some really nice reviews, so I thought I’d give it a shot anyway. And, it was rather great actually. It’s a cute as heck, friends-to-lovers story with a minimum of steam (unfortunately). Synopsis: Harrison “Harry” Fields is a good-natured, music teacher who believes in soulmates. Henry “Harry” Lee is a cynical businessman who doesn’t believe in love. They meet for the first time on flight from Singapore to L.A. And when the plane lands, neither of them wish to ever see the other one again.…

Bell, Book and Scandal (Bedknobs and Broomsticks #3) by Josh Lanyon

I love, love, love this series! As soon as the pre-ordered e-book appeared on my Kindle, I immediately gave up what I was doing and dove into this entirely wonderful, witchy world. It’s delightful and quirky in the best way possible. Cosmo and John have that infuriating dynamic going that is so addictive. At least the way Lanyon portrays it. I honestly don’t understand why I find it so fascinating really, but I do. The story is exclusively told from Cosmo’s point of view, while John is the one that holds most of the power in their relationship. This imbalance between them was there from the first book, but the…

Heated Rivalry (Game Changers #2) by Rachel Reid

I don’t know why I waited so long to read this book! It’s awesome! It’s a blazing hot roller-coaster ride with a beautiful ending. I love it. It’s the ultimate enemies-to-lovers story. Two hockey players, Shane and Ilya, are on rivalling teams and have been pitted against each other since they were drafted. They’re as different as can be, but their attraction is off the charts. And even though they don’t even like each other, they’re dynamite in the bedroom. And no one will ever find out, right? This is such a delicious read I’m beating myself up for not picking it up sooner. I mean, I’ve seen all the…

Flipcup (Vino & Veritas #7) by Kim Hartfield

Release Date: April 5th Full disclosure: This is my first F/F read. Like, ever. But when Flipcup was offered, my curiosity was piqued. And even if F/F romance had never been on my radar before, I thought I’d give it a shot. In retrospect, I probably shouldn’t have, though. Synopsis: This is the story about Tara, a former foster-kid who left Boston for a fresh start in Burlington, Vermont, and Chelsea whose biggest problem in life is to get – and keep – a boyfriend. These women couldn’t be more different. Which may be why they were drawn to each other in the first place. Chelsea has sworn off men…

Undercover (Vino & Veritas #4) by Eliot Grayson

Release Date: March 29 I’m actually surprised how much I liked this book! Two vastly different guys that start out their relationship based on lies but despite that manage to turn it into the real thing in the end. A very delightful read indeed! Synopsis: Alec is an undercover FBI agent tasked with trying to crack a case involving drugs being smuggled into the US in yoga-mats (yes, totally ridiculous, right? But all the yoga-bashing in the book totally made up for it!). Gabe is a rich twink who’s adrift after being kicked out of grad school. After Gabe inadvertently rouses Alec’s suspicions (among other things), Alec realizes that Gabe…

Not So Sincerely Yours (For Him #2) by A.M. Johnson

Release Date: March 25th I liked this story a whole lot. I liked the characters. I liked that Anders and Ethan, who didn’t get their happy in the first installment, found each other in this one. And I liked the writing so much. Earlier books by Johnson that I’ve read have had this almost poetic feel to them. The For Him books aren’t like that, but still, sometimes that same style shone through which made me smile every time. The story started off with Anders and Ethan meeting for the first time – and not under the best circumstances. Ethan thinks Anders is an entitled, uptight prick, and Anders thinks…
